1/2 cup baking soda.

1/4 cup baking soda + 1/2 cup vinegar + 2 liters of water.
Baking soda is a natural scourer, deodorizer and water softener.White vinegar cuts grease and odor and is also a good stain remover.This formula can be used as an all-purpose cleaner in the home.Window stains and tile marks are scrubbed off using this formula.
1 table spoon of salt + 5 lemons.
The acidity in lime juice kills common bacteria and lifts rust while the rough texture of salt scrubs dirt off.Salt can be used to scrub out rust after leaving the item covered in lime juice for 2-3 hours.
1/8 cup of white vinegar + 4 cups warm water.
This is a good window cleaner.Use old, newspapers that are not colored to rub the formula on stained windows. Use non colored newspapers to clean the windows with the mix.Do not clean the windows when it’s excessively hot. Warm air mixing with the vinegar causes clouding on the windows. This can also be used to ease the adhesive on wall stickers, tags and wall papers.
Equal measure of vinegar and baking soda + boiling water.
Accumulation of dirt on a drain for a long while might not be easily cleared out by the plunger.Pour the baking soda in the drain first followed by the vinegar to cause a reaction.Wait for 20 minutes before pouring in the boiling water to clear the residue. For plastic drains, use warm water to avoid damaging the drain.
Sodium Borate + Sodium Carbonate.
Mix sodium borate and sodium carbonate in equal parts to form dish washer soap.Aluminum is easily damaged by this formula, therefore avoid cleaning aluminum utensils with it.
Lemon peels, baking soda, dried scented herbs.
They can be used separately to mildly scent the home.Lemon peels placed in the vacuum bag, microwave and oven leave citrus scents when put on. Sprinkle baking soda on rugs and carpets hours before vacuuming to take of damp smells. Dried and crushed herbs can be left in corners to release mild aromas.
Who would think bananas could help out with the cleaning too!Make a paste of the banana peels with little water through blending them.Use the paste to gently remove tarnish from your silver pieces of jewelry. Dip them in water to get the paste off and polish with a cotton cloth.
